Worth checking first
Most symptoms come down to a handful of causes, and the questions and troubleshooting page often settles them on the spot.
The three most common:
- It joined but says nothing — check the host approved the speaker request, and that the reading mode is not "Off"
- Only some comments get read — a busy queue drops older messages, and repeated posts are skipped
- The settings button is missing — check you are signed in with an account that has control of that Space
What to include in a bug report
Any of these help. You do not need all of them.
| Item | Example |
|---|---|
| The Space | Its URL or ID |
| Roughly when | "around 21:00 on 28 September" |
| The bot's displayed state | listener / awaiting speaker / speaker |
| The reading mode selected | Full / SE / Off |
| Whether it appeared in the chat | yes or no |
Saying which of these it was narrows things down fastest:
- The bot never joined the Space
- It joined but never spoke
- It speaks, but particular messages are skipped
A message that appears in the chat but is not read has a different cause from one that never appears at all.
Corrections
If something in the documentation does not match what the bot actually does, please tell us. Which page, which sentence, and what happened instead is enough to work with.
Requests
Feature requests are welcome too. Describing the situation you are stuck in helps more than describing the feature — we cannot promise to build everything, but it does feed into what gets worked on.
