Command reference

The twelve chat commands Comeyomi accepts, with the values each one takes, who is allowed to use it, and the cooldowns that apply.

Last updated

Sending a message that starts with ! in a Space's web chat gives Comeyomi an instruction. Suggestions appear as soon as you type !, so you do not need to remember them.

Commands only work from the web chat. A reply on X is treated as text to read aloud, so writing !dice there makes the bot say those characters rather than roll anything.

Commands themselves are never read aloud. Results appear in the chat as a card.

Writing a command

Type !, the command name, then any arguments separated by a space. Either a regular space or a full-width Japanese space works.

Command names are case-insensitive: !DICE and !dice are the same. Arguments keep their original casing, which matters when naming a voice.

Voices

!speaker

Changes the voice that reads your own messages. With no argument, it reports the voice currently applied to you.

FormEffectWho
!speakerShow your current voiceAnyone
!speaker <name>Change your voiceAnyone
!speaker resetClear your setting and fall back to the Space defaultAnyone
!speaker all <name>Change the default for the whole SpaceHost only

reset also accepts the Japanese クリア and リセット. all also accepts 全体.

Without a personal setting you get the Space default. With one, yours wins.

Giving each participant a different voice means you can tell who wrote a comment by ear alone, without looking at the screen.

!speakers

Shows the available voices as a card to pick from, rather than making you type a name.

Reading

Speed and volume affect the whole Space, so only the host can change them. Anyone can check the current value by sending the command with no argument.

!speed

Reading speed, as an integer from 1 to 10. Out-of-range or non-numeric input returns the current value and asks again.

!vol

Speech volume, 1 to 10. Same form as !speed.

This is the volume of the synthesised speech only. The volume of reaction sound effects is a separate setting in the chat's settings panel, from 0% to 200% with a default of 70%. If a busy Space feels noisy, that is usually the one to lower.

If nothing is audible, check that the reading mode is not "Off" before raising any volume.

!vad

Controls the conversation wait — holding the reading while someone is speaking, and starting once the room is quiet.

ArgumentEffect

入れるWait for a pause before reading
切るRead immediately
自動Switch automatically based on how busy the Space is

Host only to change; anyone may check.

Fun

!dice

Rolls dice. Bare !dice rolls one six-sided die.

!dice 2d6 is "count d sides". Count goes from 1 to 20, sides from 2 to 1000. The card shows each roll and the total.

Three-second cooldown per person.

!omikuji

Draws a fortune. No arguments. The result is one of seven ranks, with a lucky colour and number.

The outcome is derived from your identity and the date in Japan, so drawing repeatedly on the same day gives the same result. It changes when the date does. There are no re-rolls.

Three-second cooldown per person.

!roulette

Picks one option from a list: !roulette apple orange grape, separated by spaces.

Between 2 and 12 options. Options longer than 20 characters are truncated.

Fifteen-second cooldown shared by everyone in the Space.

!timer

Runs a timer in minutes. Host and co-hosts only.

FormEffect
!timer 3Start a three-minute timer
!timer 3 5 10Start three timers at once
!timer stopCancel every running timer

One to 180 minutes each, five running at a time. Numbers may carry 分 or min. Separators can be spaces, commas or Japanese commas. stop also accepts 停止 and cancel.

!sing

Sings a melody written in MML, with lyrics: !sing cdefgab dorayaki.

SymbolMeaning
c d e f g a bNotes
rRest

-Flat
digits after a noteLength (4 is a quarter note)
.Dotted — one and a half times the length
> <Octave up, octave down
o + digitsSet the octave
l + digitsSet the default note length
t + digitsSet the tempo

MML is capped at 200 characters and the song at 60 seconds. If it runs long, use fewer notes or raise the tempo with t.

To pick a singer, put its number first: !sing 3003 cdefgab aiueo. Numbers come from !singers.

Fifteen-second cooldown shared by everyone.

!singers

Lists the available singers, for use with !sing.

Reading voices and singing voices are different lists — a number from !speakers will not give you the voice you expect in !sing.

Other

!help

Shows a card with the basics, for when you cannot remember a command name.

Cooldowns

Sending during a cooldown replies with the seconds remaining. If you get no reply at all, the cause is something else.

!timer is available to hosts and co-hosts. When an account without permission sends a changing command, the bot says so and the setting stays as it was — it is not an error, so it is easy to miss that nothing changed.

The Japanese reference at コマンド一覧 carries the same material, and the rest of the documentation goes further.
