Sound effects
Which X Spaces reaction, and which emoji written in a message, plays which sound.
Sounds reach the Space by two routes: reactions sent in X Spaces, and emoji written in the text of a message. Each plays only where a matching sound exists. Symbols without one are ignored, and never read out as words.
The two sets are not the same, so writing a symbol in the text does not necessarily give you the sound it makes as a reaction. 👎 plays as a reaction but not in text, and 🥁 is the other way round.
At most 2 emoji-triggered sounds play per message. Adding more emoji does not add more sounds.
While the reading mode is Off, the effects stop too. SE plays them without speaking the text. See reading settings.
As a Space fills up, reactions arrive more often and the sounds start to pile up. Effect volume is a separate setting from the speech, so you can lower it and keep the reading.

Written in a reply or a web chat message, these play a sound. At most 2 per message.
